Captain Phil's New York Comic Con 2008 Report and Photos!
FRIDAY Part Two
I decided to stay put in the IGN Theater for the X-Files 2 movie presentation. Since I'm not a huge X-Files fan the only reason for sticking around was to see Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz
I don't remember many details from the movie trailer or the talk except that Carter could become the next White House press secretary with the level of information contained in his answers. Still it was exciting to be in a hall with the creator of the X-Files, one of the most influential Science Fiction television shows of the 1990's.
I took a lot of pictures but the best ones are of Carter taking pictures of the audience!
Frank Spotnitz Chris Carter
At some point in the Q&A someone asked Carter what his favorite current SFTV was, I think (Because there was a Battlestar Galactica screening coming in after) they were hoping he would mention Galactica. Not surprisingly Carter loves LOST and said the LOST pilot episode was one of the best he'd seen.
Later on the obligatory mention of Kolchak the Night Stalker was made.
Chris Carter checks his camera...or is it an alien detector?
Oh Yeah, Scully and Mulder are cartoons X2!
And then they join the cast of Scooby Doo3!
It's the next great Movie Franchise combo, like Alien and Predator!
What!? An animated Star Wars sequel? Droids and Ewoks?
Okay, now where's Captain Phil?
Say cheese you bald Sci Fi Freak!
I've stolen your soul Captain in my Digital Demon Camera! Woo Ha Ha Ha!
New York Comic Con 2008 Program Book panel description:
In grand X-Files tradition, the second X-Files movie's storyline is being kept under wraps, but this much I can tell ya. It's a stand-alone story in the tradition of some of the show's most acclaimed and beloved episodes, and it takes the complicated relationship between Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in unexpected directions. What can't I say? Everything else. Want to find out? You'll want -- need -- to be in the IGN Theater at 7:30 PM on Friday to learn the Truth is closer than you think. Director-Writer-Producer Chris Carter and Writer-Producer Frank Spotnitz will both speak.
