Did a huge amount of work on the

Destinies Pages

this week and am pretty happy with the results. Most activity from here has been moved to my

FaceBook Page

where picture uploading is quicker and responses are also quicker.

If I have time.....If I have TIME I will try to write up my favorite conventions of 2009 of which there were many. I also went to a bunch of concerts in 2009 and will try to at least list them all to be able to refer to them in the future.

Here is an interesting post I wrote about music on my facebook page, at least interesting to me, prompted by an article in the New York Times.

All the Rules of the Music Business Have Been Remade - NYTimes.com

Pretty interesting article on the music industry, I still have my RIO MP3 player but I think the author fails to notice the joy of projects like Playing for Change which brought musicians from all corners of the Earth to PC's and MAC's everywhere. Then a film, and a live concert series where the main goal was to work ...for peace through the music. That project used the digital format to it's advantage and avoided the suffocating feel of We Are the World, from years ago. It made it's point in a more honest and interesting way. Anyway, check it out, and didn't musicians always get most of their income from live tours anyway or do have I that wrong?

Plus, is it better to hand an artist $20 at a live show for his own CD that he or she made because after the cost of the disc and jacket (And I've bought discs in paper plain sleeves from artists that I liked) ALL the money goes to the artist. It still sounds like a hell of a lot of work but at the same time, like being a writer you are doing something you love.

Went to the New York Anime Festival this weekend for a few hours with the kids and a bunch of friends, I'll probably post some pics on Facebook first and then make a page and review of the con at some time in the future on this site. But, since this is a hobby that could be anytime in the next ten decades.

I left the Anime festival early with my son to see Ron Moore, the Producer of the new Battlestar Galactica at the New York Television Festival. Tickets were free except for a $3.50 holding fee and the venue was beautiful! I took a tonof pictures and did an audio record of the talk. At one point I got to ask Ron a question which I asked about McCreary's contribution to the series and at the end Ron mentions my beloved Space: 1999.

Coincidentaly I had on the brilliant 2005 Space: 1999 shirt designed by the genius, Ken Scott and printed and sold by the wonderful Anthony Taylor. And yes, they are sold out but I have four so I can keep wearing them to conventions in perpetuity. Who knows, maybe I'll be buried in that shirt!

Posted Destinies shows early tonight, looked into the music of Maurice Jarre, I enjoyed researching his work a bit and found a lot of scores I didn't realize he had done which were among favorites of mine. Especially interesting is the story of how he scored Laurence of Arabia.

Happy Rosh Hashanah and Shana Tova for all my Jewish friends, have a wonderful holiday and enjoy this touching story I read about in the Times about a Rosh Hashanah service that took place on the battlefield in Germany in 1944.

Juliet Landau's webmaster wants everyone to link to Juliet Landau's new photo pages which are quite stunning. Since Juliet's Mom and Dad we're in one of my favorite Sci Fi Television shows about a Moon traveling wildly all over the universe and she was in some other show about Vampires you might like linking to this too!
